Combine academic learning with hands-on experience as you explore Cuba’s diverse ecosystems, from lush forests to the coral reefs of Playa Larga (with an optional diving course!). Gain practical insights into conservation while immersing yourself in Cuban culture. Challenge your perspectives and return with lasting memories and a deeper connection to the environment.

Modules

Environmental justice sessions

Dive into the critical intersection of environmental education and social justice, where we'll unpack the imbalance of responsibility and impact between the Global North and South. Visit significant sites and gain a deeper understanding of how these issues shape the world. 

Natural conservation activities

Make an impact and help restore coastal areas by removing invasive species like Casuarina equisetifolia, plant vital mangroves, and learn local techniques for coral reef restoration. You'll make a real difference while discovering the importance of these ecosystems. 

Intercultural sessions

Throughout the program, you'll build intercultural skills and forge connections with the Cuban community. Compare diverse cultural perspectives, broaden your worldview, and create lasting bonds.

Target Audience

Any ´óÏóÊÓƵstudent interested in real-world conservation challenges and engaging with local communities to learn their unique traditional ecological practices.
